H&M Gets Ready for Fall with a Seventies-Inspired Pre-Fall 2016 Collection

If summer is not your favorite season and you cannot wait to get carried away by the moody autumnal atmosphere, H&M will help you reach your seasonal nirvana, as the Swedish giant has just unveiled a Seventies-inspired pre-fall 2016 collection, which is now available for purchase at HM.com.

Named ‘Feminine Novelty’, the H&M pre-fall 2016 collection is strong both on contemporary denim and on timeless pieces, such as Oxford shirts and pleated skirts. Although the color palette may not be regarded as conventionally earthy-toned, as it features no shades of oranges and browns to recall the fall theme, its aesthetics evoke the colder months, with many Seventies-inspired silhouettes shining in their glory.

Modeled by Laura Julie, the H&M pre-fall 2016 lookbook showcases the collection’s most delicate and feminine proposals, with flirty unconventional matching suits dominating the scene. The garments are both naïve and sensual, and will help you catch a glimpse of what the upcoming pre-fall season has in store for us.

As portrayed in the lookbook, both contrasting and matching patterns are at the core of this pre-fall season, especially when it comes to high/low combinations and total-denim outfits. As for the latter, H&M opted for cozy overalls, button-down shirts and, of course, bell-bottom jeans, the flared lines of which will be a recurring motif throughout the last months of 2016 and even in the upcoming year.

More bon-ton ensembles such as the aforementioned pleated skirts, or, for instance, the midi t-shirt dress with the cute polka dots, got paired with more street-style-inspired staples, such as Pilot jackets and suede biker jackets. Such contrasting combinations recall what we just described as naïve sensuality, which overwhelms the H&M pre-fall 2016 collection with strong, Lolita-inspired vibes.

Such styles get strengthened by other wearable and covetable outfit proposals in the collection, such as the ‘plain’ jersey t-shirt worn underneath a sensual Nineties-inspired slip dress, as well as the oversized white shirt combined with the pair of bright blue shredded jeans.

Those who are into the glam rock side of the Seventies, the last years of which exposed fashion to darker and fitter garments, can instead opt for pairs of opaque black jeans, crepe coats and elegant chiffon dresses.

This H&M pre-fall 2016 collection is also strong on the accessory line, unveiling both covetable shoes and bags we can carry around wherever we go. Encouraging you to embrace the more athleisure-inspired kind of girl in you, who likes to complete even bon-ton outfits with a pair of sneakers, H&M re-designed its signature sneakers coming in a creamy color and with a higher insole. Those who are looking for a more conventionally sophisticated look can always opt for H&M’s pretty ballet flats.

As for the purses, the quirkiest must-have staple is the denim bucket bag, the lines and material of which will appeal to those who love the Nineties!
